POLLY

Polly is a professional Personal Trainer and Hula Hoop Artist.

Polly’s past work experience as a professional Hula Hoop Artist has taken her to all kinds of interesting places. She graduated from Goldsmiths University of London with a degree in Drama & Theatre Arts and went on to create a one-woman Hula Hoop show which toured the UK, was seen by international audiences in Dubai, Germany & Italy.

She achieved the accolade of being the youngest ever woman to have a street show in London’s Covent Garden.

Polly held Cabaret residencies in London, Brighton, and Scotland, as well as touring Theatres including the Hammersmith Apollo and the Edinburgh Playhouse.

Her experience as a Hoop Artist enabled her to witness how much physical skill and movement can benefit the mind and body, how it adds creativity, joy, and better health outcomes in people’s lives.

It was because of this passion that she became a qualified Personal Trainer and began cultivating her own business to support and help people build strength, new skills, and healthier habit’s.

What is integral to Pollys' work as a Personal Trainer is that the clients always feel empowered. With her eclectic background as a performer, Polly is a different kind of PT, an anti-diet culture approach underpins her work. Goals such as mental health improvement, hiking the west highland way, and increased functional strength for everyday life are encouraged more than a weight loss goal.

Polly has vast experience coaching professional circus artists and has taught all ages and abilities for over 10 years internationally and all over the UK.

You can now access Polly’s coaching at her new studio Light Hearted Heavy Lifting.

Adam

Hi there, I’m Adam, and this year marks my 8th year of coaching professionally. Over that time, I’ve honed my coaching skills teaching strength training to a wide variety of athletes and total beginners.

I went into this career after leaving a background in biomedical engineering. At the time, I was competing a lot and enjoying teaching Taekwondo, where I hold a black belt. Seeing the profound positive impact physical training can have on an individual is fascinating and immensely gratifying to me. From there, I’ve taken my eye for detail and science based background into coaching.

I began weight training in my teens as part of some basic s&c for rugby. I carried on training since then and have experienced the whole gamut of pitfalls a young impressionable trainee can get tripped up on. I model my no-nonsense, light-hearted based approach on becoming a role model and beacon of knowledge a younger version of me needed.

I work to empower each of my clients with the tools for success and support them along the way. I believe knowing how to troubleshoot your training and learning to adapt to life’s obstacles is key. I individualise each clients programming to look for the perfect mix of “what’s good for you” and “what you enjoy”. The vast majority of my clients have been with me for several years. Come see what the hype is about!
